Our Story
Justin and Gary have known each other for almost ten years. They met through a mutual friend, Justin’s colleague Corey, who happened to be Gary’s cousin. Corey has since passed away, and he’s the reason the two of them ever crossed paths. They ended up working together, discovered they pushed each other to be better without ever straining the friendship, and spent the better part of two years talking about building something of their own.
They were young and doing well, comfortable enough that leaving made no obvious sense, which is usually the moment people don’t leave. Titan almost didn’t happen for exactly that reason. What finally moved them was simple. Neither one was excited to walk into work anymore. So they saved up, honored a six-month non-compete and a twelve-month non-solicit, and started planning in earnest. Justin’s wife was pregnant with their son at the time, and those six months gave him something he wouldn’t have had otherwise: time at home, painting the nursery, getting ready to be a dad. He and Gary met every Tuesday and Thursday to design the company they wanted to run.
Titan Placement Group started on October 18, 2022. They were broke and hungry, running on more motivation than money, so they worked Monday through Saturday, arriving before sunrise and leaving after dark. The goal from day one was to make a real footprint in the FQHC and community health world. As soon as their non-solicit cleared, they reached out to the relationships they’d built over years, and the whole thing took off.
They hired one person, then another, and Titan has grown every year since. Justin grew up as part of the underserved population these health centers exist to serve. He knows what it’s like to be the patient who needs care and can’t afford it, which is why he treats this work as advocacy for community health as much as recruiting. The company they set out to build was always two things at once: a place that helps organizations hire and increase access to care, and a workplace worth showing up for, full of driven people who want to make a difference and get taken care of in return.
